ABWW Stereotype of the Day: Tiffany “New York” Pollard

I am so glad that this woman’s five minutes of fame are over. Loud, untalentented, stupid, bad weave-wearing, she-beast held the interest of VH-1 audiences for five reality shows. Why are black women consciously aping centuries old white stereotypes about black femininity Is it for the money, the attention, just good old fashioned bad home training? Why do so many eat this up and see this appalling stereotype as a shinning example of black womanhood? Sorry I could not find a picture with this woman fully clothed so find your own picture of this washed up reality slut.

I love your blog!! And you speak the truth about New York. I didn’t actually watch any of the shows that she was on, but for a period of time she was appearing everywhere. I got the impression that a lot of it was an act, albeit an act she may have been playing since she was a teenager.
